Leith made 2 changes from the Strollers match, Euan Campbell and Ross Middlemiss came in for Greg Irvine (Suspended) and Craig Downie (Failed Fitness Test)
Both team started slowly on a pitch that held up well considering as the night wore on the colder it got the harder the pitch became however both teams had a go in an entertaining match.
Leith took the lead with an excellent through ball from Campbell that Steve Radzynski slotted past Lumsden, 10 mins later Radzynski scored his second, quick free-kick from Campbell to the unmarked Duthie who fired an inch perfect cross for Radzynski to make it 2.0. Gala where no means out of the match and got back into it from Jamie Gibson who cut in from the left to fire the ball pass Gordon in the Leith goal, Gala hit the bar on 2 occasions throughout the night as Campbell also rattled one of the bar for Leith before Radzynski scored his 3rd from the Penalty spot after Duthie was upended, an excellent pass from Downie through Steve and he took advantage of a defence mistake to make it 4.1. Mark Duthie who had an excellent match got himself on the score sheet after Lumsden failed to deal with a through ball.
Deserved victory for Leith who took there chances, the score line did flatter Leith a little with Gala feeling aggrieved with the Penalty decision that went against them although I have seen them given.
