Leith Athletic 2 v 1 Gretna 2008 – League Match – Civil Service Sports Ground

Gretna started with the wind at their backs and started to pose a threat to Iain Gordon’s goal and it was a fine save from Gordon after Dan Carmichael effort, further efforts on the Leith goal by Steven black and David Seggie brought out the best in Iain Gordon, however Gretna finally made the break through good move with Andy Hardman pass sent Steven Black through to side foot his strike pass Gordon on the 34th min, Leith responded with a good Darren Lockhart effort before a good strike from Steven Radzynski was well held by Josh Richardson in the Gretna Goal, just before half time an excellent Euan Campbell corner was wiped in right to the back post Josh Richardson miss judged the flight of the ball and it flew into the net with the game level at half time. Second half and it was Leith’s turn with the wind at their backs and they made a positive start with Mark Duthie getting the by-line and delivered quality cross with Radzynski going close with a header just over the bar, however the winning goal was for Leith to saviour and Gretna to admire, Pass in field from Sub Greg Irvine found Steven Radzynski with his back to goal just outside the centre circle took one touch to go past his 2 markers and he hit this unstoppable shot from fully 35 yards into the top corner on the 81st min.
